This year, the Carnival is working closely with Visit South Devon, the region’s official marketing organisation, to raise the profile of Shaldon locally and nationally as part of their recently launched South Devon Crab campaign. The location’s fantastic and the crabbing events should attract a whole new audience to the area and there’s even a celebrity dressed as a crab – we can't tell you more, it’s an official secret, but do go along and find out who he/she is!.
The day’s jam packed with beachside activities including a crabbing competition, crab sand sculpture competition, cookery demos, a painting competition, fancy dress parade, fishing demonstrations, pillow fight and the not-to-be missed parade of decorated boats. Plus from 6pm ‘til 11.30pm, there’s live entertainment on the Village Green.
